I really hope all you readers of this blog had a wonderful Christmas and start to the new year. I hope 2014 is kind to you and your families.
We’ve been in Perth now for two weeks and as you can imagine, it’s been a busy time of cooking, eating, drinking and socialising in general, but nothing in the way of fishing or farm gates to blog about. After leaving Walpole and overnighting in Pinjarra (where we had one of THE worst dining experiences EVER in a Thai/Chinese restaurant) we took our van on up to New Norcia and the farm (Monte Casino) where it will sit until we head back home to Victoria. It was a lovely catch up with Pam and Carson, Pam’s parent Pauline and Phil and the kids Jess and Lewis. I love the farm and visit any chance we can. I won’t go into the dining experience, but I did review the place on Tripadvisor (my name is Jan Sessions) if you want to read it.
My oldest son flew over to Perth just before Christmas, his new girlfriend Pippa flew from the UK just after. We had Christmas dinner here with Blair and Leah, and New Year’s Eve at our daughter-in-law’s sisters place. In between, we’ve eaten in, eaten out and found some time for a bit of sight seeing with Pippa.
Saturday, we are having a three hour photography workshop on landscapes and places. We meet at the Barack St Jetty here in Perth on the Swan River. I really hope we come away learning something!
Blair and Leah are currently in Bali for 5 days so we are once again cat sitting Cosmo, giving him his injections and tablets twice a day. After checking out the cost of a cabin at the Jurien Bay Caravan Park ($910 for the week) and looking into the cost of a week in Bali ($1140 for flights and hotel inc breakfast) we are off to Bali on Tuesday when they get home.
